Community Business Partnership: How Local Businesses Fund Local Nonprofits
The short version

Proximent's model: commercial clients save on web development and operations software, and part of what they pay supports nonprofits in their own community.

Money spent with large software vendors usually leaves town. Our model is built to keep more of it working locally.

01

The idea in one sentence

Businesses pay a fair, low price for their website and software, and that revenue makes it possible to give nonprofits the same tools for free.

02

How it works

  1. A local business joins for its website or operations software.
  2. It saves compared with agency fees and per-seat subscriptions.
  3. Part of that revenue goes toward support and development for local nonprofits in that business's community.
  4. Nonprofits get free software and websites, with only $20 per month for hosting.
03

Why it matters

When small businesses spend less on tools, more stays in payroll and the local economy. When nonprofits spend nothing on software, more goes to their mission. Both sides strengthen the same neighborhood.
